Real Junk Food Emporium brings the waste food revolution into popular dining experiences for Leeds Indie Food Festival. The team at Real Junk Food have a vision for all food to be valued and fulfil its purpose of being consumed. 34 Boar Lane has seen a ‘pay as you feel’ supermarket installed, selling edible and safe discarded food sourced from local businesses, supermarkets and restaurants to help tackle food waste in the city. An evening of fine dining was also hosted with an unexpected but inspiring five-course meal using unwanted produce in and around Leeds. All proceeds from the event were reinvested back into local projects associated with the cause.
